Costa Rica Pejibayes
There is a great fruit stand near the entrance to San Buenaventura, at KM 187 from the Costanera Highway. It is where all sorts of great fruit that is grown in the nearby region. When you buy a villa in the area you will be able to get all kinds of locally grown food. We envision having a local farmers market weekly on the property in the not to distant future. We believe sustainability comes from working together and want to work with local farmers in trading for things they grow with things we grow as well as eating much of what we grow in the community.
The fruit pictured below is a bunch of pejibayes. Pejibayes are boiled and then eaten. They are starchy and similar to a potato. Ticos eat them with mayonnaise flavoured with lemon or plain mayonnaise. When they come into season they are at stands everywhere. You will even see them sold in local sodas ready to eat.
There is a town called Pejibaye not too far from Las Villas De San Buenas where they grow a lot of Pejibayes and ship them around the local region. The homes at Las Villas will be surrounded by fruit trees and other edible landscapes and ornamentals chosen by each individual owner. Park areas will also have various fruit trees and Pejibayes will most likely be one of the fruits grown on the property.

Costa Rica Earthquake – felt here but no problems

Yesterday a 7.6 earthquake shook northern Costa Rica (Guanacaste), about a 7 hour drive from Las Villas de San Buenas. Although the earthquake was felt here in San Buenaventura there was no damage to any structures.
Everything is moving forward as planned here at Las Villas de San Buenas. Pura Vida!!

Hiking in the Private On-Site Reserve

Hiking Costa Rica Jungles
Las Villas de San Buenas is not only one of the most appealing Costa Rica real estate developments in the entire country, due to its great location, affordable pricing and great community, but it also has a private jungle on site. Hire one of our local guides for a two hour hike and you will also learn about herbal medicines and how the ancient people of Costa Rica lived off the land using the leafs, barks and roots of the plants in the jungle.

The trail is well marked and has handrails (made out of bamboo) in areas where they are needed.

Message from Management
July 2012
We have had a wonderful first two quarters of 2012 with plenty of finalizing of infrastructure and rough cuts being installed and new construction going on.
During the first week of June we started construction on our second home for a client from the USA. It is ahead of
schedule and should be completed within six months of breaking ground. Our goal is to have it ready for rent for Thanksgiving 2012 – we will keep everyone updated with the status of the house and the potential availability for November.
We have rough cut in our curvy roads on our 40 acre flat area with sweeping mountain views. As you may recall, all of these lots have incredible ocean views and almost all of the lots back up to a park or green space. These parks are for the exclusive use of our owners.
We also have started cutting the first set of trails through our 18 acre jungle which is located at the upper most part of the property at approximately 1,000 feet of elevations. The views are incredible and we will be working with the local municipality and federal environmental agencies to put in a permanent environmental study work station there. During my most recent hike
up to the top of the property we found two green poison dart frogs, a wild orchid growing and saw and heard numerous animals and wildlife.
We are now offering up to $1,000 of fly-and-buy travel credits/refunds for anyone who purchases in Las Villas de San Buenas. In addition, we will include two zipline tickets and complementary use of one of our homes for up to four days and three nights. This offer may be discontinued at anytime so act soon!
